The clerk stated that the doors which both move allow for less difficult cleaning of the shower stall. The permanent shower doors were available in plastic, fiber glass and glass. The fiber glass shower doors were sold in frosted or clear. There were also designs that had mirrors on the surface which faced the room. Each type came with framing that could be custom fitted for the shower opening.
We bought the permanent shower doors which slid past one another in frosted glass. We were pleasantly surprised at how simple it was to put in the frame and to place the glass doors. The space appeared much larger and cleaner without the shower curtain hanging there. We obtained a squeegee to clean the glass permanent shower doors.
We were so pleased with the glass doors on the shower in the small bath that we went back to the store and ordered sliding glass doors for the shower/tub combination. The framing is fixed to the bathtub and the doors move on the track. The time it takes to wash the baths is significantly reduced and I do not need to be concerned about mold building up on the glass shower doors like it did on the plastic lining of the curtains.
