Plus-Size Models - Plus Size Modeling Can Be An Alternative To Regular Modeling

The environment of high fashion modeling might absolutely be such a shock to your system. If you've not ever been involved with modeling I propose you only do so if it is some-thing you absolutely want to follow as a vocation. I've seen many girls have their confidence severely damaged by agents. But hey, this is entirely part of the system. When my eighteen -year old step-daughter came to me with a modeling ambition, I sat down with her to ask a string of questions. The primary question was, "Is this some-thing you truly want to do for a living?" Her answer was, "No, I just would like to know that I can do it." Hmm, well that's not good enough. There are plenty of things I would like to know I can do, one of them becoming an astronaut, but you won't see me struggling to head in to space. My point is that you ought to strive to be a model only if that is the job path you want. It is not a hobby! It's a full-time commitment. Furthermore, I told her that she would not fit in to either category of plus size models or the high fashion modeling. A size eight is in between.

What is your take on modeling? Do you have disdain for the business or are jealous of the models? You truly shouldn't. All those skinny girls are only doing what they need to in order to meet the designers' demands. They're the ones that make them be SO thin. And then there are the plus size models. These women represent more of what America truly looks like. I am talking size twelve and up. That is probably over half of our country's population. They model the whole gammit from lingerie to plus size coats and look beautiful doing it. But still, you don't see these women like you perceive the high fashion slim models. A perfect example is the TV series, "America's Next Top Model." There were 2 plus-size models this season, but one was already sent home. Most likely the other one is going to be sent home as well. As one of the competitors stated, "When have you ever seen a plus size model on the cover of Vogue?" As unhappy as this seems, the girl does make a valid point.

Alright, so we've recognized that the business for plus-size models whether modeling plus size coats or swimsuits is not as impressive as that for high fashion girls. No big surprise there. Although there's quite a strong demand for plus size coats, swimwear and vocation clothes for plus size ladies. However, if you do wish to pursue a job path in modeling and have the chops to do plus size modeling, then I suggest you send inquiries to the leading organizations on the internet. Attach a few pictures as they tell you to. This is the fastest way to get your foot in the door.
