I first found out about Mike Dooley on viewing the DVD, "The Secret'. I don't know how many other people also saw it, maybe millions. I guess that the majority of the people who saw it, didn't get the law of attraction to work in their lives.
Mike Dooley, like all of the other teachers, was viciously edited and only had a short time to make his point. The Secret did a great job of introducing the idea of the law of attraction to a larger audience but it only scratched the surface.
It got people excited about the concept but it left a lot questions unanswered. Rhonda Byrne and the producers of The Secret didn't follow up with more detailed coverage of the subject. It was left to each of us to search for the teachers involved in order to get further clarification.
I was fortunate enough to be able to meet Mike Dooley at a seminar in the UK late in 2009. It was a date in his World Tour III - Playing the Matrix. This goes on into 2011 and I recommend going if you can.
The Matrix is an elegant and simple chart that answers some of the questions that I and many others were stuck on after seeing the secret. It demonstrates his ideas about the true nature of reality and how manifestation works.
It gave me a whole new view of goal setting and the method of achieving goals. The big question that Mike answers is, do you keep focusing on your goal or do you imagine it, emotionalize it and then forget about it?
The matrix guides you on where to place your focus, and which elements you should leave to the Universe. Once you know this, Mike suggests that you visualize only once a day, for not more than 5 minutes. Then, you should get on with your day.
The whole event was excellent, relaxed and entertaining. Mike Dooley himself is a very pleasant and approachable guy and it was a pleasure to meet him. He makes this type of material much more understandable than some teachers. I recommend taking a look at his books.
